Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Volkswagen Jetta?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 352 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,893 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

The current average of $17,349 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,113 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more appealing to buyers now but may limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less depreciation left than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong value positioning can help support demand, especially for shoppers focused on affordability and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volkswagen Jetta or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,304 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,349 CAD average.
• It brings back a more upscale feel and a more rewarding drive.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are shopping with price in mind. If you can stretch your budget and want a more polished driving experience, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
