The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and easy to live with over time, especially when it comes to the overall ownership experience. What is the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport's resale value?

The current average of $25,444 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,889 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, your resale position will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped. A lower entry price can help cushion depreciation, especially if you keep the vehicle in strong shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,991 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,444 CAD average.
• It adds MIB3 infotainment plus Travel Assist and Emergency Assist.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and a wider pool of discounted listings. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model with a few useful tech upgrades, the 2021 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritise those additions.
