That lines up well with its practical small-crossover role, especially if you want something useful for daily commuting and capable in rough weather or light off-road use. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 250 listings available.

What is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $21,677 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,170 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more attractive entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays cool. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the vehicle. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,256 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,677 CAD average.
• It adds a 2.5-litre engine and an upgraded EyeSight system.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the lower average price and strong owner satisfaction. If you are price-sensitive, it is the smarter starting point; if you want newer updates and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is worth a look.
