Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Crosstrek?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 262 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,942 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $20,918 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,625 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive level today, but it also means future resale may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment. If the market stays steady, a lower entry price can leave you with less depreciation pressure than a buyer who paid closer to the previous average. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,249 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $20,918 CAD average.
• It adds a 2.5-litre engine option and upgraded EyeSight driver assistance.

The bottom line: Choose the 2020 if you want the better value play and are happy with the Crosstrek’s proven formula. Consider the 2021 if you want to spend more for the added engine choice and updated driver-assistance tech. If price matters most, the 2020 is the smarter starting point; if you want the newer updates, the 2021 is worth the premium.
