Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 16.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 201 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 2500 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features. The user feedback also points to strong towing capability and a reliable Cummins diesel engine, which supports confidence if you need a truck that can handle demanding work. The main trade-off is fuel economy, and some owners also mention rear air vents as a weak point.

The overview makes clear that this truck is aimed at buyers who want serious hauling and towing ability without giving up a more upscale cabin or distinctive styling. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights the Cummins diesel engine as reliable, dependable, and trouble-free, with owners also expressing confidence in the truck’s long-term performance. The expert drive notes that the diesel’s exhaust brake helps reduce brake wear during heavy towing, which is a practical durability advantage for hard-use owners. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that heavy-duty capability can come with higher operating costs if the truck has been worked hard or maintained inconsistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin ranges from very functional to genuinely upscale, with upper trims delivering very good materials and, on the highest trims, an astounding level of finish. The base truck is much more straightforward, so you should check whether the listing includes the comfort and appearance upgrades you want.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and a 6.7-litre Cummins inline-six diesel, with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and an electronic low-range transfer case. The V8 is the stronger choice for payload, while the diesel is the towing-focused option.
• Safety package: Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking. You should confirm which of these are fitted, since they are not standard across the range.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect system is the better everyday choice, and the 12-inch display adds a much more useful interface with trailer tools and camera views.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada does not rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel efficiency, but the expert test drive recorded close to 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres over more than 800 mostly highway kilometres.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and do not need the upscale cabin or advanced convenience features found higher up the range.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and equipment without pushing you into the highest-priced luxury trims.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the more rugged, off-road-leaning character mentioned in the model’s broader positioning, while still keeping the Ram’s upscale design and technology strengths.
• Laramie: This is the sweet spot if you want a noticeably more premium interior and a strong mix of comfort, technology, and capability.
• Limited Longhorn: This trim is for you if cabin presentation matters a lot, since the materials and craftsmanship are described as especially impressive here.
• Limited: This is the top luxury pick, and it suits you best if you want the most refined version of the truck with the richest interior treatment and the strongest wow factor.

Most driver-assistance features remain optional, so you should verify the safety equipment on any trim you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,860 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $43,197 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,676 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one, the current trend can work against you in the short term, especially if your truck is not especially well equipped or has higher mileage. On the other hand, strong demand for capable heavy-duty pickups can help support values when the truck is clean, well maintained, and properly optioned.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

The Ram 2500 will not be rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking. Ram says the emergency braking system will function with a trailer attached, which is a useful feature if you tow regularly.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model stands out for its upscale feel, distinctive styling, and strong technology.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck that feels more luxurious and innovative than many rivals, the 2020 is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible price, you can also keep an eye on nearby model years and compare condition, equipment, and mileage before deciding.
