Used 2020 Nissan Rogue for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 16.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 613 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 6/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, driving experience, cargo space, and gas mileage. For everyday use, that lines up well with the Rogue’s practical compact-crossover role and its easy-to-recognise, familiar packaging.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert assessment calls out sluggish performance and unintuitive technology, and it also notes poor value for money. Even so, if you want a comfortable, practical SUV rather than a quick or cutting-edge one, the Rogue still fits that brief. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and everyday usability standing out as recurring strengths. The expert assessment reinforces that the Rogue is built around familiar, proven hardware rather than a complicated setup.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, especially because long-term ownership risk is more about how the vehicle was cared for than about any single standout strength.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SL Platinum. The S is the simplest version, while the SL Platinum adds the most upscale presentation, including 19-inch aluminium alloy wheels. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT, plus a choice of FWD or AWD. The setup is adequate rather than quick, and the expert assessment notes that it can feel noisy and underwhelming when you need stronger acceleration.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included. Some additional driver-assistance features are available on higher trims or as options.
• Infotainment: The Rogue uses a 7-inch touchscreen. Standard equipment includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. NissanConnect Services and navigation are available, but the system can feel slow and dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert assessment cites 8.2 L/100 km for FWD versions in combined driving, while the Canadian AWD version is rated at 8.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SL Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Rogue’s core practicality and standard safety tech without paying for extras you may not need. It makes the most sense if you’re shopping on a tighter budget.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the middle of the range and gives you a better balance of equipment and price than the S or the top trim.
• SL Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Rogue experience, including the most premium appearance and equipment. It suits you best if comfort and features matter more than keeping the purchase price down.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the range, but some additional driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims or options.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 613 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,656 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $17,656 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,034 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if the market stays soft. A lower entry price today can help support demand, especially for shoppers who are value-conscious.

The Rogue’s practical appeal and broad inventory should help it remain easy to shop and compare. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star rating for the driver in frontal-impact testing, and it does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Shield 360 is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also standard.

Higher trims or options can add automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, rear automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane change intervention, a surround-view camera, and ProPilot Assist with lane-centring capability. The main caveat is that the Rogue’s crash-test performance is held back by its frontal-impact results and headlight performance.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers familiar practicality, useful cargo space, and comfortable everyday driving.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,433 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,656 CAD average.
• It was redesigned from the ground up with a new platform and chassis.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and can live with older tech and slower performance, the 2020 Rogue is the easier buy. If you’d rather spend more for a newer-generation redesign, the 2021 is the better long-term choice, especially if you’re not strictly price-sensitive.
