You get a three-row SUV that appeals if you want a more engaging drive, a premium-feeling cabin, and everyday usability rather than maximum size. This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.

If you find a listing below $25,553 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $25,608 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,044 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy near the current average and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the earlier market peak. The relatively stable year-round range also suggests the model has a defined market value, which can help with resale planning.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $28,299 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $25,608 CAD average.
• It brings updated 2021.5 improvements and a more refined overall package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable with its slightly smaller-feeling cabin. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-year improvements, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
