CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Lincoln Aviator
Summary
With 62 currently listed for sale and an average price of $32,728 CAD, 19.4% of 2020 Lincoln Aviator listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Lincoln Aviator 4.6 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Lincoln Aviator stands out as a midsize, three-row luxury SUV that leans hard into Lincoln’s quiet-luxury identity. It was designed around smooth power, a hushed cabin, and rich materials, while also being smaller and easier to manoeuvre than the larger Navigator. For buyers who want a family vehicle with a premium feel, that combination of refinement and everyday usability is a major part of its appeal.
What makes this generation especially distinctive is its mix of standard and available technology. At launch, Canadian models came with all-wheel drive, second-row bench seats, three-zone climate control, Sync 3 infotainment with a touchscreen, automatic emergency braking, blind spot information system, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keeping system, and automatic headlights. Available equipment included a 14-speaker Revel audio system, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive steering, adaptive suspension with road preview, Lincoln’s Phone-As-A-Key, 30-way Perfect Position seats with massage functionality, a wireless charging pad, and a standard wi-fi hotspot. The Aviator also offered a plug-in hybrid powertrain at launch, and that version delivered 494 horsepower, 630 lb-ft of torque, and 34 kilometres of all-electric range.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The third row is cramped, rear visibility is poor, and used models with Sync 3 can feel dated compared with newer infotainment systems. Even so, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator remains appealing for shoppers who value comfort, strong performance, and a well-equipped luxury interior more than outright space.

We were delighted with the purchase of the Lincoln Aviator. We enjoy the large sunroof, seating for seven (heated and cooled seats in second row), and the adaptive cruise control. The vehicle helps steer itself and adjusts speeds not only when coming up on other vehicles, but changes the speed when speed limits change. Very comfortable ride and is very responsive with the twin turbo engine. It is a well designed vehicle!

For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize, three-row luxury SUV with a premium cabin and everyday usability. Is the 2020 Lincoln Aviator reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its smooth ride, comfortable seating, and overall luxury experience. For long-term ownership, a well-maintained example should be the safer bet.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lincoln Aviator?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and focus on the best examples rather than rushing.
- Deal availability: 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 64 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.48% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $32,958 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Lincoln Aviator's resale value?
The current average of $32,958 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,462 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you're buying now but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong equipment can help offset some of the depreciation pressure.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Lincoln Aviator or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 18.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.48% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2020 Aviator is a smart choice if you want a refined, well-equipped luxury SUV and you value current pricing that has eased from last year. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 remains the better pick when you want a strong mix of value, comfort, and owner approval.
