Is the 2020 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sportage earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently highlight its spacious and luxurious interior, along with great features for the price. That fits well if you want a practical compact SUV with room for four adults and a comfortable, easy-to-live-with setup. Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value comfort and everyday usability. The repeated praise for its long-term appeal and solid feature set suggests it can be a sensible used buy if you want something you can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing a well-kept example that still matches your expectations for equipment and fuel use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 247 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.53% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,420 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $17,420 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,382 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at today's average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Because the model still attracts shoppers looking for comfort and value, a clean example should remain reasonably marketable.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sportage makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV and you can take advantage of the softer pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 stands out as the better pick when you want a strong mix of value, comfort, and owner approval.
