Yes — the 2020 Kia Sportage earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with the Sportage earning praise for being easy to live with over time. Its reputation for comfort and value helps reinforce that impression, especially if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular driving. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a well-used example may show the usual wear associated with a vehicle that prioritises comfort and features over standout efficiency.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 252 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,830 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $17,830 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,836 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it a tougher vehicle for sellers to command top dollar in the short term. If you own one, pricing it competitively will matter more than ever, especially if you want to move it quickly. On the other hand, the model’s strong owner satisfaction can help support steady demand from shoppers who value comfort and interior space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Sportage is a strong pick if you want a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV and you value owner satisfaction and current pricing more than class-leading cargo space or fuel efficiency. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-priced examples, since the market currently offers enough inventory to reward careful shopping.
