Is the 2020 GMC Terrain a good car?

Generally — 4.43/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Owners most often praise its comfortable cabin, spacious interior, and intuitive entertainment system, while also appreciating the premium-leaning feel and useful safety equipment. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a compact SUV that feels a bit more upscale and comfortable than many rivals, especially if you value a polished interior over maximum cargo room or brisk acceleration. With 24.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.43/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on comfort, safety, and economical performance. That kind of response usually matters most if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years and want something you can count on for everyday use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright satisfaction and more about making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well, since comfort-focused crossovers can still become costly if neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 197 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.86% compared with last year.

What is the 2020 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $21,006 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,831 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The model’s comfort-focused appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, even if its resale trajectory is not especially strong right now.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?
