Used 2020 Dodge Durango for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2020 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 14.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 156 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Dodge Durango earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and smooth driving experience, and many also value its towing capacity and performance. That lines up with the Durango’s use case as a seven-passenger family hauler that still leans into a more muscular personality than many rivals. The main trade-offs are that it can feel a bit dated and that it gives up some usability versus segment leaders. Even so, 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a spacious, comfortable SUV that many drivers feel good about living with over time, and the smooth driving experience adds to that confidence. The expert assessment also highlights the Durango’s solid, easy-to-use setup and its broad appeal as a family vehicle with performance leanings. On the ownership side, the main risk for used buyers is that you should pay close attention to maintenance history and condition, especially if you’re considering a higher-output version.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT is the most basic version, while the GT adds heated front and second-row seats, a power rear liftgate, and leather-and-suede upholstery. The R/T adds a larger touchscreen and more convenience features, the Citadel brings chrome accents, a power sunroof, and premium leather, and the SRT gets the most aggressive appearance and performance-focused cabin details.
• Powertrain: The SXT, GT, and Citadel use a 3.6-litre V6 with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T and available Citadel V8 upgrade use a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 390 lb-ft, while the SRT gets a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 475 hp and 470 lb-ft. All engines pair with an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: The Durango includes airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, trailer sway control, and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available. These features are not standard.
• Infotainment: The SXT and GT use a 7-inch touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch screen is optional on the GT and standard on the other trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and navigation plus SiriusXM Travel Link come on the R/T, Citadel, and SRT.
• Fuel efficiency: The base V6 uses 12.7 L/100 km in the city, 9.6 on the highway, and 11.3 combined. The 5.7-litre V8 returns 16.7 L/100 km city, 10.9 highway, and 14.1 combined, while the SRT uses 18.3 L/100 km city, 12.2 highway, and 15.6 combined.

Which 2020 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2020 Dodge Durango is offered in 5 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, Citadel, and SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Durango’s core strengths, including the V6, standard all-wheel drive, a 7-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features found higher up.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds heated front and second-row seats, a power rear liftgate, leather-and-suede upholstery, and a more upscale feel without jumping into V8 pricing. If you want the sweet spot between equipment and cost, this is the one to focus on.
• R/T: This trim is for you if you want stronger acceleration and a more premium tech setup, thanks to the 5.7-litre V8 and the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen. It also adds navigation and SiriusXM Travel Link, making it a better fit if performance matters as much as family duty.
• Citadel: Choose this if you want the more luxury-minded Durango, with chrome exterior touches, polished wheels, a sunroof, premium leather, and available V8 power. It suits buyers who want comfort and presence more than outright performance.
• SRT: This is the performance-focused choice, with the 6.4-litre V8, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and the most aggressive styling. It’s the right pick if you want the most powerful and most distinctive Durango.

The Technology Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, but those features are not standard on any trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 156 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,162 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $28,162 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,985 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Durango has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to move if you price yours competitively later. The current market also shows that shoppers are still willing to consider this model year, especially when the listing is well equipped or priced near the lower end of the range. If you buy carefully now, you may be able to benefit from the softer market while still owning an SUV with broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Dodge Durango safe?

The Durango earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side crash testing and four-star ratings in all other phases.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Durango comes with a full set of airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, trailer sway control, and rear parking sensors. The Technology Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision avoidance, and lane-departure warning, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection are also available. The key caveat is that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you need to check the equipment list carefully on any used example.

Should I buy a 2020 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines three-row practicality with muscle-car styling and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,737 CAD, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $28,162 CAD average.
• It adds a more modern infotainment setup and extra performance appeal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the Durango’s core mix of space, style, and power at a lower price. If you’re willing to spend more for newer tech and added performance hardware, the 2021 is the stronger upgrade path.
