On the other hand, the Equinox’s practical appeal and broad shopper interest can help support demand when your vehicle is well maintained and properly equipped.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.24/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.24/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Equinox makes the most sense if you want a roomy, practical compact SUV with a strong value case and you’re comfortable prioritising comfort and safety over premium materials or stronger performance. If you’re price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still work, but the 2020 is the better pick when you want a balanced used SUV and can find one priced near the lower end of the market.
