Because the X3 is still a desirable compact luxury SUV, a clean example should remain appealing to shoppers who want a premium daily driver.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 BMW X3 is the better pick if you want the plug-in hybrid option and a well-liked balance of performance, comfort, and practicality in a compact luxury SUV. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2020 stands out as the more compelling choice when you want strong owner satisfaction and a market that currently offers some negotiating room.
