Is the 2019 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volvo XC90 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its comfort, safety, and innovative features, and many highlight the spacious, upscale interior as especially well suited to family use. That lines up with its role as a luxury midsize SUV for buyers who want three-row practicality, premium materials, and a polished cabin rather than a sport-first feel. Is the 2019 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing the XC90 as a high-value luxury SUV that feels reassuring over time. The review summary highlights comfort, safety, and innovative features, while also noting that most concerns are relatively minor, such as warning lights. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger risk is less about widespread failure and more about the usual luxury-car ownership costs and the need to watch for small issues as the vehicle ages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volvo XC90?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 84 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,768 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $26,069 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,857 CAD.

That price movement suggests the XC90 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, though resale gains are unlikely to be driven by appreciation. Instead, the model’s value will depend more on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 XC90 makes the most sense if you want a well-liked luxury three-row SUV and you value current market pricing over chasing a newer model year. If you are price-sensitive, nearby years may also be worth comparing, but the 2019 stands out as a strong balance of owner satisfaction and softer used pricing.
