Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, safety features, visibility, comfort, and all-wheel drive capability, and those strengths line up well with its practical, family-friendly SUV focus. The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centred on comfort, safety, and all-wheel drive confidence. Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,918 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $21,842 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,936 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer pricing means you may need to be realistic when setting an asking price. On the other hand, the Forester’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Forester is the better pick if you want the fifth-generation formula with strong owner approval, standard all-wheel drive, and a practical, comfort-first setup. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 remains the safer primary choice for shoppers who value satisfaction and everyday usability.
