Great car, Bought brand new. Had for almost 5 years and it was a great commuter. All miles I ever put on this vehicle were nothing but highway, also great on gas as well.

I love all of the features! This car is a very good value. I just wish it had automatic seats and an automatic review mirror. I’m not sure what i would compare it to, but the steering wheel reminds me of a mustang!

| Year-Round High | $17,315 CAD |

There are 59 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.
Is the 2019 Kia Optima a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.77/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its great value, stylish design, and numerous features, while also highlighting its smooth ride and safety options. The main trade-off is that some owners would like quicker acceleration and a few extra convenience features. With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2019 Kia Optima reliable?
Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially because of its value and overall dependability. The comments also suggest it is a model you can count on for a comfortable daily drive, even if it is not the quickest in the class. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still prioritise a well-maintained example with a clean service history.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Optima?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 59 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.91% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $13,707 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Kia Optima's resale value?
The current average of $14,726 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,306 CAD.
That decline suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command top dollar right away. If you buy now, you may benefit from the softer pricing, but resale gains could be more limited if the market stays at this level. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Kia Optima or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.91% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2019 Kia Optima makes the most sense if you want a well-liked used sedan with solid value and you can take advantage of the softer pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you similar satisfaction for less money.
