What is the 2017 Kia Optima's resale value?

The current average of $9,292 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,112 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Optima has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy at the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand can still help support pricing, especially when a model has a good reputation with owners.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Kia Optima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 23.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Kia Optima makes sense if you want a well-liked sedan with a lower current asking price and enough inventory to compare a few examples. If you’re price-sensitive, this year looks especially appealing when you can find a listing near the bottom of the current range; if you want the strongest value, focus on the best-priced examples rather than paying closer to the top of the market.
