Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.

The current average of $19,740 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,880 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the previous average. The HR-V’s practical appeal and broad usefulness should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value efficiency and versatility over performance.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 HR-V is a strong pick if you want the refreshed version with broad everyday usefulness, good owner satisfaction, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 is the better all-around choice if you want the updated package and a sensible balance of value and practicality.
