Used 2023 Honda HR-V for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2023 Honda HR-V cost?

Prices have softened 8.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 285 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Honda HR-V earns a 4.4/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, generous equipment, and strong value, and many say it feels packed with features for the price. The HR-V also stands out as fun to drive for the segment, and the top EX-L trim feels more upscale than its price suggests.

The trade-offs are clear: it does not offer a hybrid option, and its performance is fairly pedestrian. That makes it a better fit if you want a small SUV with broad appeal, comfort, and value rather than brisk acceleration.

With 27.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with drivers especially appreciating the smooth ride and strong value over the long term. The expert drive notes also support that impression by describing the HR-V as a well-rounded small SUV that feels more substantial than before.

Honda’s three-year/60,000-kilometre limited warranty and five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain limited warranty help reduce early ownership risk, but used buyers should still pay attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda HR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most basic version, while Sport adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone climate control, a power moonroof, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a more aggressive exterior look. EX-L brings perforated leather seats, additional shoulder support, a more premium cabin feel, a larger infotainment display, and parking sensors.
• Powertrain: You get a single 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and a CVT. It is tuned more for everyday use than strong acceleration, and the HR-V is described as more fun to drive than you might expect, but still not especially powerful.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert. EX-L also adds front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 7-inch colour touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup, but LX and Sport use wired versions while EX-L gets wireless connectivity, a 9-inch display, Qi-compatible wireless charging, and Wi-Fi capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The HR-V is rated at 9.1 L/100 km city, 7.4 highway, and 8.3 combined in FWD form, or 9.4 city, 7.8 highway, and 8.7 combined with AWD.

Which 2023 Honda HR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda HR-V is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the standard Honda Sensing safety suite, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and the core HR-V experience without stretching the budget.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more distinctive look, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone climate control, a power moonroof, and a six-speaker audio system.
• EX-L: This is the one to choose if you want the most premium-feeling cabin, with perforated leather seats, the larger 9-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone integration, wireless charging, an eight-speaker audio system, and parking sensors.

Honda Sensing is standard across the range, so even the least expensive trim gets the full safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 285 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,650 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $27,650 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,145 CAD.

That price trend suggests the HR-V has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft.

The HR-V’s broad appeal, standard safety equipment, and strong owner satisfaction should help it remain attractive to shoppers looking for a practical small SUV. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Honda HR-V safe?

The 2023 Honda HR-V receives a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert. EX-L also adds front and rear parking sensors.

That standard safety coverage is a major strength, especially because Honda now includes the suite on even the base trim.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Expert or safety highlight specific to this year from ROOT "Expert test drive data"."Summary".

The bottom line: The 2023 HR-V makes the most sense if you want the redesigned model with standard Honda Sensing, a more modern cabin, and a strong value story. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 is the better pick if you want the updated design and equipment mix.
