Used 2019 Honda Civic for Sale nearSurrey, BC

How much does the 2019 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.15% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 748 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.71/5 user-rated car with an expert score of 7.83/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and safety features, and they also like its stylish appearance and good fuel economy. That lines up well with the Civic’s role as a practical compact car that still feels more polished and enjoyable to drive than many rivals. With sedan, coupe, and hatchback body styles in the mix, it gives you room to choose the version that best fits your needs without giving up the Civic’s core appeal.

The market also looks healthy, with 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, and it also describes the Civic as a car people trust for comfort and everyday use. The expert road test reinforces that dependability by noting smooth, refined engines, a clutch and shifter with near-perfect feel, and a CVT that avoids the strained behaviour some other automatics show. Honda’s maintenance coverage also helps ownership feel more predictable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by heavy commuting or deferred maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trims are the most stripped-down, while higher trims add more upscale touches such as LED headlights, navigation, and a stronger audio system. The Sport trim also adds extra exterior flair, including a centre-mounted exhaust.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder in DX, LX, EX, and Sport sedans and in LX and Sport coupes, while Touring models use a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine. The turbo engine is the better pick if you want quicker response and stronger mid-range acceleration.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim level except the Si and Type R. It includes forward-collision alert with forward collision warning and emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are a big plus, but the system itself feels dated and slower than Honda’s newer interfaces. LaneWatch is available on certain trims, and the Touring’s navigation and audio setup are the most premium tech features.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbo engine is described as the better choice for response and mid-range pull, while the CVT is praised for behaving smoothly without the usual high-rev strain or low-rev lugging some rivals show.

Which 2019 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2019 Honda Civic is offered in 7 trim levels: DX, LX, EX, Sport, Touring, Si, and Type R.

Here’s the short version:

• DX: This is the most affordable way into the Civic, but it’s the most basic choice, so it makes the most sense if your priority is keeping the purchase price as low as possible.
• LX: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it gives you the Civic’s core strengths without pushing the price too far, and it still benefits from the model’s standard safety package.
• EX: Choose this if you want a more polished daily driver, since it moves you closer to the Civic’s better-equipped side without jumping all the way to the premium trims.
• Sport: This is the pick if you want more visual attitude, including the centre-mounted exhaust and some of the Si’s styling cues for less money.
• Touring: This is the most upscale non-performance trim, and it’s the one to target if you want the LED headlights, navigation, and top-tier audio system.
• Si: Pick this if driving enjoyment matters most, since it brings the stronger turbo engine and a stick shift.
• Type R: This is the extreme performance choice, but it sits outside the mainstream Civic experience and is best for buyers who specifically want that character.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim except the Si and Type R.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 748 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,459 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $18,516 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,380 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Civic is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can make it easier for future sellers to attract attention if they price competitively. It also means the market has already adjusted downward, so a clean, well-equipped example may stand out more than a rough one. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Honda Civic safe?

The 2019 Honda Civic earns five-star ratings in all categories from NHTSA, except for four-star ratings for the coupe's passenger-side frontal crash rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim level except the Si and Type R, and it includes forward-collision alert with forward collision warning and emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The IIHS has rated various earlier Civic models with its top Good rating in all six crash tests, and it rated the Civic’s crash-prevention features as Superior. The 2019 model itself was not rated, though it is identical to earlier model years.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Minor tweaks keep the Civic’s style, value, and performance formula intact.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,167 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,516 CAD average.
• It adds more standard safety and convenience features.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better value if you want the Civic’s proven formula at a lower entry price, especially if you’re shopping carefully for a good deal. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with extra standard features, the 2020 is the cleaner upgrade path.
