Is the 2019 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2019 GMC Terrain earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its unique design, attractive looks, safety features, and value for money. The cabin also gets positive attention for its interior features and more polished feel, which fits the Terrain’s role as a compact SUV for you if you want something a bit more premium than the norm. In practical terms, it suits shoppers who want a comfortable, well-equipped small utility vehicle with a refined personality.

With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence, especially for buyers who want a compact SUV they can count on. The repeated praise for value, stability, and overall satisfaction suggests that many owners feel good about living with it over the long term.

For used buyers, that kind of owner sentiment can reduce perceived ownership risk, especially if you choose a well-maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,380 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $18,600 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,159 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has become more affordable for you as a buyer, but it also means a future seller may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, the lower entry price can help offset some depreciation risk. The model’s premium-leaning image and strong owner satisfaction should still support demand better than a less distinctive competitor.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Terrain makes sense if you want a compact SUV with a more premium feel, strong owner approval, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2019’s strong satisfaction and value profile.
