Is the 2019 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Mustang earns a 4.86/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its power, style, comfortable ride, and enjoyable handling. That lines up well with the Mustang Bullitt’s role as a special-edition, style-forward performance coupe, especially if you want something distinctive rather than just another Mustang. With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people feel good about living with, especially for its power, style, and comfortable ride. The expert assessment also supports that sense of dependability by describing the Bullitt as easy to drive thanks to its forgiving clutch, rev-matching for downshifts, and hill-holding. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a high-performance V8 coupe, so upkeep and wear can be more demanding than on a mainstream car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Bullitt is based on a Mustang GT Premium coupe with the Performance Pack, and it adds distinctive styling touches such as Highland Green paint, a blacked-out grille, unique badging, chrome trim, a cue-ball shifter, digital gauges, and Bullitt-specific 19-inch aluminium wheels. It is the right choice if you want the most exclusive, movie-inspired version rather than a standard Mustang look.
• Powertrain: You get a nearly 500-hp V8, a six-speed manual transmission, adaptive dampers, and a special exhaust and intake setup that add power and top-end speed. There is no four-cylinder turbo engine here, and the 10-speed automatic offered on other Mustang models is not available.
• Safety package: The Bullitt Electronics Package adds blind-spot monitoring, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, a driver memory system, and voice-activated touchscreen navigation. The standard safety equipment also includes a rearview camera, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Sync 3 infotainment.
• Infotainment: The car uses Sync 3, and the tech suite includes a touchscreen interface, standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and available voice-activated navigation. The Bullitt Electronics Package also brings the upgraded 12-speaker stereo.
• Fuel efficiency: The Bullitt is estimated at 16.1 L/100 km in the city and 9.9 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2019 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Mustang is offered in 1 trim level: Bullitt.

Here's the short version:

• Bullitt: This is the one to buy if you want the most distinctive 2019 Mustang experience, with the special-edition styling, extra power, and the Performance Pack hardware already included. It suits you best if you value exclusivity, strong sound, and a more focused manual-transmission driving experience over everyday practicality.

The Bullitt also comes with the Performance Pack standard, while the Bullitt Electronics Package adds blind-spot monitoring and other convenience and tech upgrades.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 162 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,859 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $30,145 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,376 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can ask. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the higher average a year ago. The Bullitt’s special-edition appeal should help it stand out, but resale will still depend on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2019 Ford Mustang enjoys a five-star safety rating in every category from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded an Acceptable rating for the driver’s side small overlap test and a Marginal rating for the child safety latches.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Bullitt’s safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring when equipped with the Bullitt Electronics Package, plus a rearview camera, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Sync 3 infotainment as standard. The main caveat is the IIHS result for the driver’s side small overlap test and the Marginal rating for the child safety latches.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The Bullitt adds special-edition styling, extra power, and a distinctive manual-transmission character.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $25,441 CAD, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $30,145 CAD average.
• It feels more polished and sophisticated while still delivering Mustang performance.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $36,158 CAD, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $30,145 CAD average.
• It offers multiple powertrain choices and strong value for money.

The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive and enthusiast-focused version, the 2019 Bullitt is the clear pick. If price matters more than exclusivity, the 2018 is the smarter value play, while the 2020 makes sense if you want a broader Mustang lineup and are willing to pay more.
