That price movement suggests future sellers may need to stay competitive if they want to attract attention in a softer market. Should I buy a 2018 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen or consider a different year?

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a sensible choice if you want a used Golf SportWagen with a favourable price trend and a decent spread of deal opportunities. If you're price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2018 stands out as a practical starting point when you find one priced near or below the current average.
