How much does the 2018 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 3.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 151 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2018 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.6/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, good fuel economy, smooth ride, and cargo space. That lines up well if you want a midsize truck that can handle daily driving while still offering the durability and off-road ability that make the Tacoma appealing. With 22.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, and it also highlights the Tacoma as a truck people feel good about keeping for the long haul. That matters if you want something dependable enough to count on for regular use, not just occasional driving. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is paying a premium for a truck that may still be priced higher than you’d expect for its age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 22.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,218 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $35,798 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,942 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tacoma has eased a bit, but not enough to weaken its long-standing value story. If you buy now, you’re still entering a market where demand remains supported by the truck’s reputation for durability and strong owner satisfaction. For a future seller, that means the Tacoma should remain relatively easy to move compared with many used trucks, even if pricing stays firm.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 22.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a solid choice if you want the Tacoma’s durability, resale strength, and everyday usefulness in a year that still has meaningful inventory. If you’re more price-sensitive, it’s worth comparing nearby model years and focusing on the best-priced listings rather than paying a premium for the badge alone.
