Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

The owner feedback points to a truck that many people find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, especially when it comes to comfort and overall ownership experience. The repeated praise for value, power, and towing suggests this model year can be a solid long-term choice if it has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the truck’s appeal and more about making sure any specific example has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,449 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,191 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $22,191 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,148 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. The truck’s broad appeal should still help support demand, especially among shoppers who want comfort and capability in one package.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-liked full-size truck with a strong mix of features and value, the 2018 is a sensible primary target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2018’s strong owner satisfaction and current market softness.
