Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 4.69/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury features, comfort, and reliable engineering, and many also like the powerful engine and impressive sound system. The overview also fits that feedback: you get a premium-feeling, family-friendly SUV with a quiet, spacious cabin and plenty of standard equipment, including all-wheel drive and a long list of convenience features. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliable engineering and a generally dependable ownership experience, with many shoppers feeling the price is justified by the overall package. For used buyers, that means the long-term risk looks manageable, but a thorough pre-purchase check is still important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 109 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,591 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $27,867 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,884 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The GLE’s premium positioning and broad appeal should help support demand, but condition and equipment will matter a lot when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped, comfortable luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a softer price trend, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar GLE offers a better asking price or a better-equipped listing for your budget.
