Is the 2018 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its great handling, smooth ride, and attractive design, and many also like its compact size and AWD capability. The CX-3’s appeal is strongest if you want a small crossover with a premium feel and a more engaging drive, even though cargo space is limited. Is the 2018 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers describing the CX-3 in positive terms over the long term. That kind of response suggests you can count on it as a used purchase if you prioritise confidence and consistency.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about whether the compact cabin and limited cargo space will still suit your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mazda CX-3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 143 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,624 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $16,335 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,771 CAD.

That price movement suggests the CX-3 has softened enough to give buyers a better entry point, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The model’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want a stylish small crossover with a premium feel.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, current pricing, and a premium-feeling small crossover, the 2018 is the one to focus on. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2018 stands out as a sensible primary target for shoppers who value handling, style, and a well-liked ownership experience.
