Is the 2018 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Kia Sportage earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels solid, dependable, and trouble-free in day-to-day use. For used buyers, that kind of owner confidence lowers the perceived long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 261 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,509 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $13,509 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,135 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well kept. At the same time, the softer market may help you buy at a more attractive entry point today. If demand stays steady, the combination of value pricing and strong owner sentiment can help support resale interest later on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Sportage makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV with a comfortable ride, a polished cabin, and strong owner approval. If your priority is getting the best value, this year looks especially worth considering because prices have eased and there is still a meaningful share of good deals. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, you may want to focus on the lowest-priced listings first and move quickly when you find one in the lower end of the range.
