Acceleration is lacking but, overall, performance, comfort, mileage are good! Price was fair. Would recommend as a city car.

Base Elantra has good pick up 0-40 mph, but after 40 it strains. Base model is a good handling car and good value if buying it cheap. But new - people should opt for the turbo.. 2-3k more but includes better interior, push button, and way faster engine.

This car is great! I just need a small car, and prefer the versatility and sportiness of a hatchback. So far, seems to be a step up from my Ford Focus.

|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,573 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $12,564 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $14,511 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $14,511 CAD |

There are 75 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The recurring positives in owner feedback centre on good handling, comfort, value for money, and a fun, sporty hatchback design. If you want a practical used hatchback that still feels engaging in city driving, this model year has broad appeal, and 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Is the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with comments that emphasise comfort and value alongside the car’s everyday usability. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction usually suggests lower ownership anxiety, though you should still verify maintenance history and condition carefully before you commit.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 75 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $12,564 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT's resale value?
The current average of $12,573 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,511 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy at a more attractive entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. For a future seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand when it comes time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness, the 2018 is the primary year to focus on. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, you can also compare nearby years and use the current market as leverage, but the 2018 stands out as the better all-around starting point for most used-car shoppers.
