Is the 2018 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Civic earns a 4.71/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its value, reliability, fuel economy, safety features, and technology, while also describing it as stylish and sporty. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want efficient, practical, and affordable transportation that still feels enjoyable to drive. With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also describes the Civic as dependable and trouble-free for many drivers. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you want a used car you can count on for everyday commuting and ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the car’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Civic?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move on the right car.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 641 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,583 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $16,644 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,640 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The Civic’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,516 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,644 CAD average.
• It adds a broader body-style and powertrain mix.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the better value and are focused on efficiency, practicality, and strong owner satisfaction. Consider the 2019 if you are willing to pay more for a slightly newer model-year option and want to compare its broader lineup against the 2018’s lower average price. If price matters most, the 2018 is the smarter starting point.
