Should I buy a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.44/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want an upscale-feeling full-size pickup with broad capability and a healthy used-market presence. If your priority is value, the 2018 makes sense when you can find a well-priced example with a clean history; if you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2018’s stronger market position.
