What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin quality improves as you move up to Premium trim, which adds higher-quality materials, exposed contrast stitching, and available aluminium carbon-pattern trim. Base versions are more straightforward, so check whether the features you want are included before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine and a V8 GT, with rear-wheel drive standard across the range. The review also notes a 10-speed automatic, a six-speed manual, and performance-oriented hardware such as line-lock, Launch Control, and Drag Strip mode on equipped models.
• Safety package: The Mustang includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, driver monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts. The lane-keeping assist system can be intrusive, so make sure it suits your driving style.
• Infotainment: Look for the 12-inch digital instrument cluster, Sync 3 touchscreen infotainment, available navigation, rearview camera, Ford Sync Connect, and available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT is rated at 12.5 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review notes that the EcoBoost Coupe with a Performance Package can be had for closer to $30,000 CAD while using less fuel than the V8.
