Is the 2018 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the 2018 Ford Fusion backs that up with a mix of sharp styling, strong road manners, and a lot of available technology. It also gives you a roomy cabin, with 973 millimetres of rear legroom and a 450-litre trunk, so it works well if you want a practical midsize sedan that still feels polished. The available all-wheel drive and broad feature set make it especially appealing if you want comfort and capability in one package. 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

The 2018 Ford Fusion is described as having a decent reliability record, and the gas models are generally the stronger bet if low running costs matter. Its appeal is helped by a well-rounded design and a broad spread of available technology, but used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and equipment condition, especially on higher-spec examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Fusion?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a solid example.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 94 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,588 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $12,621 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,809 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Fusion easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Ford Fusion is a smart pick if you want a stylish, roomy midsize sedan with strong road manners and plenty of available tech. If your priority is value, the 2018 makes sense when you can find one near the low end of the price range; if you want to compare across nearby years, a later model may be worth considering for a broader feature set, while a previous year can be the better path if you’re focused mainly on price.
