This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2018 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,277 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,181 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future depreciation feel less abrupt if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, that also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want comfort, space, and a premium feel without paying new-SUV money.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,456 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,277 CAD average.
• It adds an ST trim for a more performance-focused driving experience.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the lower entry price and a market with decent deal availability. If you can stretch your budget and want a more performance-oriented version, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
