This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2018 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,254 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,053 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more attractive point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,489 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,254 CAD average.
• It adds an ST trim for more performance-focused driving.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the better value and a wider pool of lower-priced listings. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model with a performance-oriented option, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
