This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2018 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,379 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,352 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make future resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your best protection is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,665 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,379 CAD average.
• It adds an ST trim with a more performance-focused character.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2018 if you want the better value play and are focused on comfort, space, and a lower purchase price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model with a broader performance angle, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
