Is the 2018 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Ford Edge earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and smooth driving experience, and many also like the all-wheel drive system and upscale feel for the money. The current market also shows 30.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers feel good about living with over time, especially when it comes to comfort and everyday usability. At the same time, some owners mention reliability concerns with the engine and air conditioning, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters for used buyers who want to reduce long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 334 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,273 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,273 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,105 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Edge easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim appeal than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, especially if they present as clean, comfortable family SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,496 CAD, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $15,273 CAD average.
• It adds an ST trim for more performance-focused driving.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want the better value and a wider pool of discounted listings. Consider the 2019 if you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and the added performance-oriented appeal; otherwise, the 2018 is the smarter pick for price-sensitive buyers.
