The main trade-offs mentioned are fuel economy and the wish for a few extra convenience features. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Dodge Journey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable for family use, especially because of its comfort and practicality. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for everyday duties if the specific used example has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle you choose has been cared for well enough to avoid surprise repair costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Dodge Journey?

It looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,340 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $12,395 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,718 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the vehicle easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. Strong demand from shoppers who value comfort and space can still help support resale interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used SUV with strong owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the better primary target, especially if you value space and comfort. If you're shopping on a tighter budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and deal quality.
