Is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.73/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, comfort, and impressive cargo space, and many also like the smooth ride and useful features such as the rearview camera. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a family-focused crossover with lots of room for people and gear. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still decent market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable everyday experience for many shoppers, with repeated praise for comfort, practicality, and value. That said, the model’s used-market appeal is best when you focus on well-maintained examples, since long-term ownership risk can rise if you buy a neglected vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 85 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,766 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $20,793 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,751 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value when it is time to sell. The current market also shows that demand is still present, but not so hot that you can expect a premium without the right trim, condition, and mileage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Traverse with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential, the 2018 is a sensible choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
