The current average of $14,754 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,716 CAD.

That price trend suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the redesigned third-generation Equinox with a more modern cabin, updated technology, and a strong mix of comfort and space. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2018 is the better fit when you want the newer-generation package and a market that still offers some deal opportunities.
