Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Yaris?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 57 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,490 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Yaris's resale value?

The current average of $14,376 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,333 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future sellers: it may help you buy at a more favourable entry point now, but it also means the market has already adjusted downward. If prices stabilise, a well-kept example could still hold its value reasonably well. Strong condition and maintenance history will matter more when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Yaris or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of price movement, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2017 is the sensible starting point. If your priority is stretching your budget further, keep an eye on listings at the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against other nearby model years.
