Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Yaris?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 53 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,470 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Yaris's resale value?

The current average of $14,308 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,846 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range can help protect your position. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Yaris or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a used Yaris with a softer average price and enough deal activity to shop carefully. If you're especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price or better listing mix gives you more value for your budget.
