Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Tacoma makes the most sense if you want a proven midsize truck with strong owner approval and you’re comfortable paying for its reputation. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be the better path, but the 2017 remains a strong choice when condition and deal quality line up.
