Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Corolla?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 287 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,534 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $15,637 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,673 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future resale upside may be more measured than in a rising market. If you plan to sell later, the Corolla's current value trend suggests steady demand rather than rapid appreciation. Its strong owner satisfaction should help support buyer interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,600 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,637 CAD average.
• It is a value-focused small car with strong fuel economy and a polished, affordable package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the newer model-year updates, stronger standard equipment, and a still-reasonable used price. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2016 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the 2017 on price while keeping the Corolla’s core value proposition intact.
