Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2017 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $33,598 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,998 CAD.

That softer pricing can make the 2017 model more attractive to you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. The year-over-year decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help keep used examples moving if they are well maintained and fairly equipped. Strong owner satisfaction and the 4Runner’s reputation for durability should continue to support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 4Runner’s rugged character, proven owner satisfaction, and a market that has eased a bit, the 2017 is a sensible target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
