Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury feel, comfort, and sporty performance, and they also highlight its safety features and confident driving experience in challenging weather. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a premium SUV that feels upscale, practical, and well equipped. Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable and trouble-free enough to keep enjoying over the long term, especially when it comes to comfort and all-weather confidence. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and any signs of costly repairs, since long-term ownership risk can rise if the vehicle has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 138 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,729 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $26,729 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,734 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less room for appreciation in the short term, so condition and mileage will matter more when it comes time to resell. Strong demand for well-kept examples should still help support values, especially for vehicles that present as premium and properly maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better choice if you want a well-equipped luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently offers some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar GLE can be found at a lower asking price or with a better equipment mix.
