Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 4.86/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its comfortable ride, smooth performance, and appealing features, and many also value its power and safety on longer trips. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury SUV that prioritises on-road comfort, practicality, and a premium feel over rugged capability. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 4.86/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also highlights that many owners find it dependable for everyday use, with a comfortable, trouble-free driving experience being part of the appeal. At the same time, some reviews point to reliability concerns, so you should treat a used example as a vehicle that deserves careful inspection and a solid service history. For long-term ownership, that means your risk is manageable if you buy selectively, but it is not the kind of used SUV you should approach casually.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,249 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $21,258 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,626 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If you own one, the softer pricing means your resale expectations should be realistic, especially if your vehicle is not exceptionally well maintained or well equipped. On the other hand, the model’s premium image and practical appeal can still support steady interest from used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.86/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.86/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 GLC makes sense if you want a comfortable, premium-feeling compact luxury SUV and you can take advantage of today’s softer pricing. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
