Is the 2017 Lexus RX reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, trouble-free, and well suited to long-term ownership. That lines up with the RX’s broader reputation for reliability and for being a vehicle you can count on over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,963 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $29,009 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,571 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it can also mean future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. Even so, the RX’s strong reputation for comfort and ownership satisfaction helps support demand. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in good condition, that should help preserve value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 RX is the better pick if you want a well-liked luxury SUV with a softer used-market price and strong owner approval. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year with lower average pricing may be worth a look, but the 2017 remains a strong balance of value, comfort, and demand.
