Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, with many drivers describing the Pilot as dependable and a vehicle they can count on over the long term. Some owners do mention transmission concerns, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and road-test behaviour before committing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 206 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,927 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $21,237 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,424 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if prices continue to soften. If you buy now, you may not see rapid appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance than on market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still hold interest because the Pilot remains a practical three-row SUV with broad family appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped, family-friendly three-row SUV with strong owner approval, the 2017 is the year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and look for the best-priced example with a clean history and solid maintenance records.
